The Table d'hôtes of our guest house

" Chez Pascale et Patrick "

Our table d'hôtes,

a real moment of sharing

We serve simple and aromatic cuisine from the southwest, with seasonal produce, and as much as possible, from our vegetable garden and our orchard.

Our responsible sourcing

We still have a lot of room for improvement. However, we are very satisfied with what we have achieved so far.

A QUESTION ABOUT THE TABLE D’HOTES?

A SPECIFIC REQUEST?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TABLE D'HOTES

- CAN WE SHARE AN EVENING MEAL? Meals are reserved for the guest rooms. Several meal options are available, from a cocktail dinner to a full table d'hôte meal, including simpler meals. Reservations must be made in advance. Meals are organized based on demand and availability. Don't hesitate to call to discuss our offerings and options.

- WHAT IS A TABLE D'HÊTES (Bed and Breakfast)? A table d'hôtes (Bed and Breakfast) is a service offered in addition to a bed and breakfast. The owner offers a single menu (you can't choose your dishes) based on a pre-established formula. The meal is eaten at the family table with other guests, and generally also with the owner. A table d'hôtes (Bed and Breakfast) is part of the Slow Tourism philosophy, which motivates travelers to reconnect with their roots by immersing themselves in the heart of the region, but also to allow for encounters and share the local lifestyle, encouraging socializing. Very often, a table d'hôtes (Bed and Breakfast) is a great moment of conviviality and rarely ends before 10:30 p.m. / 11:00 p.m. Of course, there's nothing stopping you from leaving the table earlier if you're tired! When booking your table d'hôtes, please let me know if you have any intolerances or if there are any ingredients or dishes you don't want to eat. This way, don't worry, the menu will suit you!

- WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TABLE D'HÔTES AND A RESTAURANT? In a restaurant, you choose the dishes you eat, from the set menu or à la carte menu. The restaurant is stocked to serve all the dishes offered, at all service levels. You choose the restaurant based on the menu posted outside the establishment and what you feel like eating. For a table d'hôte, the meal menu is set in advance and is unique. The guesthouse is only stocked for the set menu. When dining at a table d'hôte, it's best to be a cooking enthusiast and enjoy a wide variety of foods (of course, you can find out about the type of cuisine offered, either through the establishment's website or by calling them directly). Regulations require a single menu, and it is therefore not legal to serve à la carte meals. Furthermore, the guesthouse may not be stocked to offer other dishes. And, finally, since the owners dine with the guests, it's impossible for them to prepare another dish at the time of serving, unless it's to the detriment of the other guests who generally appreciate spending time with their hosts. The table d'hôte often offers family-style cooking. Most guests are not served by the plate, but are served at the table from the pot or serving platter. Often, for the most demanding, there's a second round...just like at home. So, in conclusion, if you have dietary restrictions or if there are many foods you don't like, it's best to check with the guesthouse in advance to see if the menu is suitable for you. Otherwise, opt for the restaurant. Personally, when booking in advance, I ask guests if they have any dietary restrictions, allergies, or food they don't like to eat. This makes it easier to manage the table d'hôte. Other differences: in a guesthouse, the table is reserved for guests, and the meal is served at the family table.

- WHY STAY IN A BED AND BREAKFAST WITH A TABLE D'HÊTES? The table d'hôtes fosters interaction with the locals, but also with other guests. Generally, you chat about your day and exchange information about how to enjoy our beautiful region (in addition to the information I can give you, of course!). And then, you take the time... to look at the vegetable garden, discover new aromatic plants on the ground, share your neighbor's experiences, and share moments of conviviality... No need to go out looking for a restaurant in the evening; just go downstairs at the appointed time for an aperitif...

- I'M A VEGETARIAN AND MY FRIEND IS GLUTEN INTOLERANT. CAN YOU ACCOMPANY OUR REQUIREMENTS? Yes, absolutely. Since the principle of a table d'hôte is to share the same meal at the family table, when there are different diets, I create a unique menu that suits all guests. In this case, it's important that you book the table d'hôte as early as possible so that I have time to create the menu.
